It is hard to believe it's coming up on one year since Homicide in the Hood was released! There has been a flurry of activity on one case from the book in particular, Holly Palmer's case.
About a year and half ago, I contacted Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office and advised they needed to find Holly's fingernail clippings that had been "mysteriously" lost for thirty-five years. One of Holly's sisters, Dolly, also called the DA's office about this issue. I had told them if they didn't find them, I would contact WFAA Channel 8 news. A few weeks later, Holly's fingernail clippings were found and sent to the DPS lab for testing!
Since that time, several things have happened that cannot be discussed, however, Dolly has contacted the Texas Attorney General's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and anyone she could think of.
She is confident, after speaking to the Texas Ranger assigned to her sister's case, there will be justice for her sister.
